South Indian superstar Nayanthara has emerged as India’s highest-paid actress, commanding a whopping Rs 5 crore for a 50-second Tata Sky advertisement. Known for her stellar career, Nayanthara has worked with top actors like Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, and Nagarjuna Akkineni and made her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in 2023.
With over 80 films to her credit in a career spanning two decades, Nayanthara’s journey to the top wasn’t always smooth. Initially aiming to become a Chartered Accountant after earning a degree in English literature, she eventually followed her passion for acting. Her persistence paid off, making her one of the most sought-after stars in the South Indian film industry.
Nayanthara has also made headlines for her personal life, with past relationships including Silambarasan and Prabhu Deva. In 2015, she met filmmaker Vignesh Shivn while working on Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, and the two tied the knot, later welcoming twin sons via surrogacy.
Currently, Nayanthara charges Rs 10 crore per film. She was last seen in Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food, and her upcoming projects include Test, Mannangatti Since 1960, Dear Students, and Thani Oruvan 2.
