In addition to praying at the renowned Somnath temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to the Vantara animal rescue and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar on Sunday.

Arriving at Jamnagar on Saturday, the Prime Minister is currently in Gujarat for three days. According to a senior official, PM Modi prayed to Lord Shiva at the Somnath temple in Prabhas Patan after visiting Vantara in the morning. He next traveled to Sasan, which is located in the nearby region of Junagadh.
The Shree Somnath Trust, which oversees the operations of the temple, the first of the twelve Adi Jyotirlingas, is chaired by the prime minister.
According to the corporation, Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation founded Vantara, an animal rescue and rehabilitation facility.
Following the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Modi stated in a post on X that the visit was a part of his determination to worship Lord Somnath.
PM Modi stated in a post in Hindi, “Ekta ka Maha Kumbh’ (Maha Kumbh of Unity) in Prayagraj was completed with the efforts of crores of countrymen. I had resolved in my heart like a servant that after the Maha Kumbh, I would worship Shri Somnath, the first of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Today, by the grace of Somnath Dada, that resolution has been fulfilled. I dedicate the successful achievement of the Maha Kumbh of Unity on behalf of all the countrymen to the feet of Shri Somnath Bhagwan. I also prayed for their health and prosperity”.
The PM arrived in Sinh Sadan, Sasan-Gir, around dusk. On Monday morning, he is expected to attend a National Board of Wildlife meeting and go on a jungle safari. The subject for 2025 is “Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet,” while March 3rd is World Wildlife Day. According to officials, Modi would talk with a few female forest employees at Sasan following the meeting.
