Bullet Train Project: 3 Flyovers To Be Closed In Ahmedabad

As construction begins on India’s first bullet train project, the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR), three flyovers in Ahmedabad will be partially or totally closed. Certain sections of the track must be assembled on the flyover pillars, according to a notification from the Ahmedabad city police.

Asarwa bridge

Traffic on the Asarwa bridge (Amarsinh Chaudhary bridge) will be totally suspended from February 22 to March 23.

Alternate Routes

  • Travelers from Delhi Darwaza, Dariyapur Darwaza, and Prem Darwaza can go to Idgah Circle and Idgah Bridge (Girdharnagar Bridge), then turn right at Girdharnagar Circle to Asarwa Crossing.
  • Those traveling from Saraspur, Gomtinagar, and Bapunagar can take the side road beneath the Asarwa bridge, which leads to the Delhi Darwaza, Dariyapur Darwaza, and Prem Darwaza after passing the Civil Hospital or Girdharnagar Circle.
  • The Idgah bridge is accessible by turning right at the Girdharnagar crossroads for those traveling from Civil Hospital.

Cadila Bridge

From March 8 to April 4, a portion of the Cadila flyover and the BRTS route on it will be closed.

What’s accessible?

  • Side roads will be accessible to the BRTS. Normal traffic will only be able to use the side of the road while work is not underway.

Nathalal Jhagadia bridge

From February 18 to February 28, the Nathalal Jhagadia bridge that connects Khokhara and Maninagar will be closed entirely.

Alternate Routes

  • Those traveling from Khokhara and Hatkeshwar can take the Railway Colony crossroads, turn left at the Madrasi Mandir AMTS bus stop, and proceed to the Maninagar railway crossing before heading towards Kankaria.
  • The route from LG Hospital and Kankaria to Anupam Cinema, Jashodanagar, and Khokhara is via Jayhind Crossroads, where one can turn left toward the Maninagar railway crossing.
