Bomb Threat Letter Found Onboard International Flight In Ahmedabad

At Ahmedabad’s Sardar Patel International Airport (SVPIA), a bomb threat letter was found inside an international flight on Monday. After the flight from Jeddah to Ahmedabad landed at the airport early in the morning, the letter—which purportedly threatened a bomb blast—was discovered on board.

When the threat was found beneath one of the seats, the local police, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), and security services searched the aircraft thoroughly.

Police official stated, “A flight carrying passengers from Jeddah landed at the Ahmedabad airport in the morning. After all the passengers alighted, the cleaning staff found a note with a threat to blow up the flight. Local police, along with security agencies, have started the investigation”.

After the airplane was searched, Sharad Singhal, the Crime Branch’s Joint Commissioner of Police, stated that nothing unusual was discovered.

In order to ascertain who was behind the threat, forensic specialists have been called in to compare handwriting samples and fingerprints to those of passengers on the trip, he continued. “We will check the fingerprints and handwriting of each passenger. As of now, nothing suspicious has been found,” he stated.

This event is the most recent in a string of bomb threats that have been shown to be false all around the nation. On February 7, a number of Delhi-NCR educational institutions, including St. Stephen’s College, Ahlcon International School, and Shiv Nadar School, received bomb threats via email. Dog squads and explosive disposal units searched the property, but they were unable to find any threats. Subsequently, the Delhi Police verified that the threats were false.

A Delhi Police spokesperson stated, “The threats were thoroughly investigated, and nothing suspicious was found at any of the locations.”

They added that while Ahlcon International School was also inspected without any problems, searches were conducted in all of the buildings and open areas at St. Stephen’s College.

Similar to this, on February 4, two private schools in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, were evacuated following emails threatening bombs. Police ultimately deemed the threats to be fake and filed proceedings against unnamed people for making false statements.

Bomb worries disrupted activities, causing a practical exam at one institution to be postponed and impacting a Staff Selection Commission exam at another.
