On Saturday, Coldplay made history by playing their largest-ever show in Ahmedabad. The Narendra Modi Stadium, which can hold over a million people, was rocked by the British rock group in the Motera area.

Coldplay thanks Ahmedabad
A photo of Coldplay’s performance at the Narendra Modi Stadium was posted by the band’s official X handle, with the message, “Our biggest ever concert. Totally mind-blowing. Thank you Ahmedabad (red heart emoji) See you again tomorrow – and if you’re in India, please join us on Disney+ Hotstar from 7.45pm (sparkle emoji).” Coldplay will do another concert at the same venue, again one of its biggest yet, on Sunday. This show will be livestreamed on Disney+ Hotstar in India on the occasion of Republic Day”.
Earlier on Saturday, Coldplay posted another picture from the stadium, in which they drew a cricket ball and signed it off as “Ahmedabad, 1/25.” The caption stated, “I think even Jasprit might struggle to bowl with this badly drawn ball, but at least it is almost Spherical. It is such a pleasure to be here at this amazing stadium and to play in Ahmedabad for the very first time.”
From their concerts in Mumbai, Coldplay continues to give shoutouts to the beloved sport of cricket. Chris Martin, the frontman of Coldplay, played a video during one of their performances in Mumbai earlier this month that showed how Jasprit Bumrah’s balling “destroyed” their home country of England and helped India win a cricket match.
Coldplay’s final leg of tour in India
Fans posted breathtaking photos from Saturday’s performance of the British band on social media.
Following three shows in Mumbai, Coldplay will wrap up their Music of the Spheres India tour with a second performance in Ahmedabad on Sunday. The stadium, which is the biggest cricket stadium in the world, would have up to 3,825 police officers stationed inside and outside. The complex security setup includes a team from the National Security Guard, a special military unit.
