Gujarat: AAP Willing To Form Alliance With Congress In Local Body Polls

For Gujarat’s local self-government elections, the Aam Aadmi Party has shown a desire to work with the Congress after opting to run alone in the Delhi assembly polls. Voters will cast their ballots in the municipal elections on February 16 and the results will be tallied on February 18.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Congress, and the BJP have already prepared to compete fiercely in the elections. Isudan Gadhvi, the leader of the AAP, has made a remark about alliances in the local self-government elections, indicating that the AAP is open to forming a partnership with Congress.

AAP leader Isudan Gadhvi made the following statement regarding the potential for partnerships in the local elections: “AAP had supported Congress in the Lok Sabha. If both parties contest separately, it will benefit the BJP. To defeat BJP, AAP is ready to contest elections alongside Congress. If proposals for alliances come at the local level, we will accept them. If no alliance happens, AAP will contest in all municipal elections independently”.

However, the NCP, which forged a coalition in Maharashtra, will run on its own in Gujarat’s local self-government elections. The NCP is ready to run in the municipal and district elections. Vijay Yadav, the student wing’s national secretary, will submit his nomination on January 27 and run in the Ghatlodia corporation by-election, Nikulsinh Tomar declared.
