Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has officially added “Kapoor” to her name two years after marrying actor Ranbir Kapoor. During the trailer launch of The Great Indian Kapil Show season 2, Alia revealed her new name, “Alia Bhatt Kapoor,” marking her first official use of the surname. She appeared on the show to promote her upcoming film Jigra, co-produced by her and directed by Vasan Bala, which also stars Vedang Raina. The film is set for release on October 11, 2024.
Alia married Ranbir in 2022, and the couple has a daughter named Raha. The actress was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani alongside Ranveer Singh and in the Hollywood spy thriller Heart of Stone starring Gal Gadot.
Looking ahead, Alia will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-anticipated Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, scheduled for release on March 20, 2026. She will also lead Alpha, a female-centric project within YRF’s Spy Universe.
