On Friday, Bollywood actress Kiara Advani announced that she and her husband, Sidharth Malhotra, are expecting their first child. The famous couple shared a post on their Instagram handle with a picture of baby socks in their palms and wrote in the caption, “The greatest gift of our lives. Coming soon”. The actors did not shared a due date or any more details.
The famous celebrities and the colleagues of the couple flooded the comment section of their Instagram post by giving their best wishes. Actress Shilpa Shetty wrote, “Awwwwww congratulations are in order”, Rakul Preet Singh commented, “Omggggggg congratulations guys. so so happy” and Ekta Kapoor shared, “Raaaataaan will truly be lambiyaaan sleepless nights r here”. Actor Huma Qureshi shared, “Omg congratulations” while Neha Dhupia also commented congratulations on the post.
Fans also showered their blessings upon the couple. One wrote, “Going to be best mom and dad.” Another added, “So happy for you both and whole family”.
Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra’s Love Story
Kiara and Sidharth first met on the set of their 2021 movie, Shershaah. Sidharth played the late Captain Vikram Batra, who received the Param Vir Chakra, in the military drama while Kiara portrayed role of his girlfriend as Dimple Cheema. When the movie was released on Amazon Prime Video, it received high praise from critics. According to reports, the stars started dating during filming.
Neither of them publicly discussed their relationship, despite rumors that they had been dating since 2020. During his visit on Koffee With Karan in 2022, filmmaker Karan Johar seemed to reveal that Sidharth was dating Kiara.
However, later, Kiara disclosed that Sidharth asked her to marry him in a Michelin-starred restaurant in Rome during an appearance on Koffee with Karan. She added, “He planned the works. He had done this candlelight dinner. We go back after dinner, and he takes me up for a walk. We go up and suddenly the violinist comes out of the bushes playing and sweetly his little nephew is taking our video from behind the bushes. He then goes on one knee and proposes. I was not expecting it that night so I was so overwhelmed, I didn’t say anything”.
The actor continued, “After his whole speech, he doesn’t know what to say to me and he starts saying the lines of Shershaah. He’s like ‘Dilli ka seedha sada launda hun’, and what he said to me in the movie, the full dialogue of Shershaah. Then I burst out laughing.”
Kiara Advani said that since Sidharth Malhotra’s family was accompanying them, they got a chance to celebrate with them and they saw it as the “best part.” Soon after this, they called Kiara’s parents and Karan Johar.
In a traditional Hindu ceremony held in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on February 7, 2023, the two actors exchanged vows. For a period, their wedding photos were the most liked Instagram post in India due to the extensive media coverage of their nuptials.
Kiara and Sidharth chose to walk down the aisle on a song from Shershah.
