Russia Planning To ‘Declare Victory’ In War Against Ukraine: Report

On February 24, the day the Kremlin declared its 2022 onslaught against Kyiv, Russia is expected to declare “victory” in the war against Ukraine, according to Ukrainian military intelligence cited by The Kyiv Independent.

An intelligence report claims that the Kremlin is getting ready to present the announcement as a win for NATO and Ukraine.

According to the Daily Express, the intelligence service stated that Russia is getting ready to announce an apparent “victory” in the conflict with Ukraine by the “round date” of February 24, 2025, which is the third anniversary of the start of the full-scale conflict.

It continued, “Moreover, these plans may also include a ‘Russian victory over NATO’, as Muscovite propaganda has long described the war against Ukraine as a war with the Alliance”.

Reports of high-level negotiations between the US and Russia to end the war in Ukraine coincide with the intelligence.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, has been the target of criticism from US President Donald Trump and his administration.

Earlier Wednesday, Trump called Zelenskyy a “dictator” and said he “better move fast” to negotiate a war end or risk losing a country to govern.

Zelenskyy’s statement that Trump was living in a “disinformation space” created by Russia preceded the comment.

Trump has recently pushed for a peace agreement between the two nations and accused Zelenskyy of allowing the conflict to begin in the first place. The back and forth occurs as tensions between the two leaders are increasing and the Trump administration’s re-engagement with Russia is causing anxiety in many European cities.
