Influencer Apoorva Mukhija Getting Rape & Death Threats After India’s Got Latent Controversy

Social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija is being threatened with rape after her offensive comments on comedian Samay Raina’s since deleted YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent’.

In the midst of the uproar, content creator and close friend of Mukhija, Rida Tharana, has taken to Instagram to denounce the online threats against the controversial influencer.

In response to a post claiming that Apoorva Mukhija was receiving threats of sexual assault, Tharana said, “I’ve never doubted that some people hate women simply for being women just for breathing, existing, loving themselves, and daring to grow. A woman could have the same issue as anyone else, but the fact that she’s a woman always makes it worse. How do you ever feel safe when you’re constantly threatened, scared for your life, and living in a country that was supposed to protect you?”

After receiving directives from the central government, YouTube took down the contentious episode of the show on Tuesday. Started in June 2024, “India’s Got Latent” has so far aired eighteen episodes.

After his remarks on parents and sex on Raina’s show went viral on social media on Monday, YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia found himself at the center of a significant issue. This sparked considerable condemnation and police reports in Guwahati and Mumbai.

Mukhija also made an appearance on the show, however her comments were criticized for being considered offensive.

BeerBiceps, also known as Allahbadia, has already expressed regret for his “lapse in judgement,” yet the problem has persisted.

Mumbai Police record Apoorva Mukhija’s statement

In response to Ranveer Allahbadia’s contentious remarks on the YouTube program “India’s Got Latent,” the Mumbai Police recorded the statements of four people on Wednesday, including social media personality Apoorva Mukhija.

Mukhija has also been taken off the list of official ambassadors for the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony, which will be held in Jaipur, Rajasthan, next month.
