In the early hours of Saturday, a tempo traveler returning from the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj collided with a stopped vehicle in Limkheda, which is in Gujarat’s Dahod district, killing 4 people and injuring 6.

Among those hurt was Surat resident Devrajsinh Rathod, the tempo traveler’s driver.
M B Vyas, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Limkheda, stated, “The truck had been stationary on the Limkheda-Palli road since 7 pm on Friday. At around 3 am, on Saturday, the tempo that was returning from Prayagraj crashed into the rear of the truck at high speed, killing four persons and leaving four more injured… The injured were rushed to the Zydus hospital (civic hospital) in Dahod while the bodies of the deceased were sent for a post-mortem.”
Devrajsinh Nakkum, 47, and Jashuba Nakkum, 49, of Ankleshwar, and Siddhrajsinh Jitendrasinh Dabhi, 32, and Rameshgiri Goswami, 47, of Dholka, have been named as the deceased. Residents of Ankleshwar GIDC Jaypalsinh Nakkum, 25, Savita Patel, 63, and Keshavlal Patel, 65, as well as Jagatsinh Nakkum, 50, of Dholka, have been identified as the injured individuals.
Vyas went on to say that a police investigation had been started against the tempo driver after the Limkheda police station filed a formal complaint alleging reckless and careless driving as well as culpable homicide that did not equate to murder. In this event, the highway patrol’s first response squad hurried the deceased to the Limkheda Community Health Center and the injured down to the hospital.
According to the FIR, which was filed on Saturday morning, Rathod “drove at top speed and crashed the tempo in the stationary truck with an impact,” killing his parents as well as their other friends and acquaintances. Sahdevsinh Nakkum, the son of the deceased couple Devrajsinh and Jashuba Nakkum, filed the complaint. Additionally, the complaint named Jaypalsinh Nakkum, one of the injured, as his brother.
