On Sunday, four workers died after inhaling toxic gas at a chemical plant at Dahej located in Gujarat’s Bharuch district, according to authorities.
Inspector BM Patidar of the Dahej police station stated, on Saturday, around 10 p.m. they were inside a Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited (GFL) production unit when they inhaled hazardous fumes that were pouring from a pipe, and they passed out.
According to official, the four employees were taken to a Bharuch private hospital immediately. Three of them passed away on Sunday at around three in the morning, and another one succumbed at 6 am.
He claimed, “The incident occurred at around 10 p.m. when the four workers fell unconscious due to gas leakage from the pipe passing through the ground floor of the company’s CMS plant. They were rushed to a private hospital where all four of them died”.
According to official, the bodies were sent for postmortem and further probe into the incident was underway.
