Mumbai Police Receives Threat Message Against PM Modi, Probe On

On Saturday, Mumbai Police got a threat message that said it was directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. An Ajmer, Rajasthan-registered number was linked to the message, and a police team was sent out right away to capture the culprit.

According to news agency PTI, the WhatsApp message, which was received to the traffic police helpline on Saturday morning, mentioned two ISI agents and a plot to detonate a bomb on PM Modi.

Investigators are still looking into the possibility that the sender was under the influence of alcohol or had a mental illness.

Under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, a First Information Report (FIR) has been submitted. Previously, the Mumbai traffic police helpline has been inundated with bogus threat threats.

Death threats to Salman Khan

In the last 10 days, Mumbai traffic police has received 2 messages threatening to kill actor Salman Khan. The latest message sent on Friday read: “If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to a temple (Bishnoi community temple in Rajasthan) and apologise to the community or pay ₹5 crore. If he does not do the same, we will eliminate him. The Bishnoi gang is still active.”

Earlier, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had threatened Khan’s life. Bishnoi is currently being held in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati jail in connection with extortion and attempted murder cases, but in April, alleged gang members opened fire outside the actor’s Bandra residence.

Security for the actor has been strengthened. A senior police officer said, “This does not appear to be too serious, but we cannot take any such threat lightly. A team of crime branch officers is working with cyber experts to track the sender of the latest message. We are also checking if the message was really linked to the Bishnoi gang or someone just sent it for fun”.
