In New Delhi on Monday, prominent UPSC professor Avadh Ojha joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). In the presence of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, he joined the party, going by the nickname Ojha Sir.
Ojha, who is from the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, has been involved in UPSC tutoring for a while. His political opinions frequently go viral on social media, which has given him enormous internet popularity.
He expressed gratitude to the AAP leadership for allowing him to pursue a career in politics while still working in education. He also established his top priority, which was to build the nation’s educational infrastructure.
Arvind Kejriwal noted that Ojha’s foray into politics would assist advance India’s development and the education sector. In addition to being an educator, the former chief minister of Delhi claimed that Ojha assisted the younger generation in preparing for the workforce upon graduation.
With the AAP marking ten years in power in the nation’s capital, Delhi will go to elections early in the following year. Their bid for a third term in the February elections is expected to benefit from Avadh Ojha’s admission into the ruling party. He is well-known for his UPSC instruction videos and his scathing opinions on current events and politics. When teaching his students topics, Ojha frequently incorporates history, current events, and geopolitics.
A peek at the life of Avadh Ojha
He was raised in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, where both of his parents worked, and he received his early schooling there. Both his mother and father were lawyers and postmasters, respectively. Despite his parents’ pressure to start taking medication, he was focused on acing the UPSC exam.
He did not get a job because his desire was not realized. During an interview, he disclosed that he was expelled from his home, upon which he began working as a teacher and UPSC coach.
In addition to teaching at numerous renowned institutions, Ojha established his own tutoring center in Mukherjee Nagar, New Delhi, in 2005. In order to start Iqra IAS Academy, he relocated to Pune in 2019.
