Union Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasized the need for the BJP to learn from the Congress’s errors and maintain its distinct identity during his address to the Goa BJP executive meeting in Panaji on Friday. He advised the party to adhere to the principles of L.K. Advani and abandon caste-based politics.
Gadkari stated that the BJP should avoid repeating the mistakes of the Congress, which led to its downfall. He stressed that if the BJP emulates Congress, there will be no difference between their rule and the BJP’s governance. Highlighting Advani’s philosophy, Gadkari reminded the audience that the BJP is a unique party that should stand apart from others.
In his 40-minute speech, Gadkari, the Nagpur MP, reiterated that the people of India chose the BJP because of Congress’s failures. He urged party workers to recognize that politics is a tool for social and economic reform. Gadkari called for a corruption-free nation, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive plan to achieve this goal.
Targeting leaders who engage in caste-based politics, Gadkari pointed out the prevalence of such practices in Maharashtra. He declared his opposition to any form of caste discrimination and stated that he would strongly oppose anyone promoting it. Gadkari shared his own experience with the Muslim community in his constituency, where he openly identified as an RSS member and assured fair treatment to all, regardless of their voting choices.
He concluded by asserting that no one is superior based on caste. Issues like poverty, hunger, and unemployment affect everyone equally. Whether it’s cooking gas or any other commodity, everyone pays the same price regardless of caste. Similarly, petrol costs the same for Hindus and Muslims alike.
