The by-election for the 07-Vav assembly seat in North Gujarat is scheduled for November 13, 2024.
Out of 21 candidates that initially submitted nomination forms, 10 are in fray in this by-poll following the verification and form withdrawal process. The primary conflict involves Congress candidate Gulabsinh Rajput, BJP candidate Swarupji Thakor and suspended BJP rebel Mavjibhai Patel (Chaudhary). The seat has been with the congress for the last two assembly elections with margin of thousands of votes.
It is anticipated that 3.10 lakh electors, consisting of 1.61 lakh males and 1.49 lakh females, would cast ballots in this election. In the 07-Vav Assembly Constituency, there are 192 polling centers with a total of 321 polling stations. From 7:00 A.M to 6:00 P.M, 321 ballot units, 321 control units, and 321 VVPATs will be used for the voting process. A total of 1,412 officials/ employees will be on duty at the polling stations.
There are 3,10,775 voters in this assembly seat, consisting of 1,61,296 male voters, 1,49,478 female voters, and 1 third gender voter.
The results of Vav by-elections will be announced after the counting on November 23, 2024 along with the results of Maharashtra and Jharkhand state assembly elections and several other assembly seat by-elections in various states.
