Nurturing Future Communicators: Gujarat University’s Workshop on Communication Skills

The Department of Communication and Journalism at Gujarat University recently organized an enriching seven-day Communication Skills Workshop aimed at honing the communication abilities of its students. This intensive workshop was designed to provide practical exposure and foster a deeper understanding of the communication challenges in today’s society.

Students participated in various activities during the workshop, including performing seven thought-provoking skits and creating PowerPoint presentations. These presentations centered on pressing social issues and developmental themes, focusing on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Students showcased their growing communication skills through these creative expressions and engaged with real-world problems, proposing thoughtful solutions.

The workshop was led by mentor Rebecca Sudan, who utilized a variety of games and practical examples to make the learning process engaging and effective. The workshop culminated in a review session where the Gujarat University department’s professors, Dr. Bhumika Barot and Dr. Komal Shah, along with mentor Rebecca Sudan, evaluated the students’ presentations, providing valuable feedback and encouragement. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to developing skilled communicators ready to address the challenges of the modern world.
