A 25-year-old Indian man was arrested at a water park in Moncton, New Brunswick, for allegedly committing sexual assault against 12 individuals. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police apprehended the man, a Halifax, Nova Scotia resident, on July 7. Although he has since been released from custody, he is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on October 24 for further proceedings.
The police have not disclosed the man’s identity, but a video of his arrest has gone viral on social media. In a statement, police urged anyone who may have been a victim of sexual assault at the water park on that day to come forward and report the incident.
The mother of one of the victims, a minor, posted the suspect’s photo on Facebook, warning other parents about his behavior. She mentioned that the man was with a group of other Indian individuals. According to police reports, the man was roaming the water park, inappropriately touching anyone he encountered. Twelve people have come forward to testify against him, with some victims being under the age of 16.
Upon learning of the incidents, police promptly arrived and arrested the suspect.
