Actress Neha Dhupia, a mother of two, has frequently made headlines due to her weight gain post-pregnancy and her journey to shed the extra pounds. She candidly shares the struggles she faced, revealing that her weight increased significantly during pregnancy, reaching around 23-25 kilograms more than usual.
A Rollercoaster Journey of Weight Gain and Loss
Neha Dhupia explained, “After my daughter Mehr was born, we went into lockdown. I managed to lose weight because we were at home, and I could focus on eating less. I lost that weight, but then I got pregnant again. These past four years have been a rollercoaster for me, with constant weight fluctuations. During my pregnancies, I wasn’t concerned about how I would look post-delivery.”
Dhupia shared that her weight loss journey didn’t begin immediately after giving birth. “I breastfed both my children for a year, which made me hungrier and left my energy levels low. I only started focusing on exercise and proper nutrition about a year ago, and since then, I’ve lost a total of 23 kilos. I’m not yet where I want to be in terms of weight and measurements, but I’m confident that I’ll reach my fitness goals in the future,” she said.
Impact on Career and Personal Well-being
The actress also noted that the transformation has not only improved her physical health but also given her career a new direction. “I feel much better, especially in an industry where physical appearance is so important, but I have always embraced who I am.”
Neha added, “Fit actors are still given priority. I’ve seen an increase in offers and I feel more comfortable in my clothes.”
